Airbrush Tanning At Home - Airbrush Kits, Solutions And More

Sunless and airbrush tanning kits are becoming more and more popular. People want to tan at home without having to buy an expensive tanning bed. For those people that are concerned about ultraviolet ray exposure, then sunless tanning is the way to go.

How does it work? Well, most home airbrush tanning kits come equipped with a compressor, airbrush gun, and some sunless spray solution. The sunless solution is what gets sprayed onto your body and is what actually turns your skin brown. There is an active ingredient in these sunless tanning solutions called "DHA". This DHA is a clear solution that takes about four to five hours to turn your skin brown. Since DHA is clear, a lot of spray solutions contain a bronzer within them so that it is easier to see where you are spraying on the body. This bronzer will actually wash off when you shower four to five hours later, leaving only the tan created by the DHA.

What to do before: When you spray tanning solution on your body, this solution will actually soak in more on the dry parts of your body such as your feet, knees, and elbows. Using a good exfoliating cream or scrub before spray tanning is highly recommended so that all of that dry skin is removed so that you have fresh skin to spray tan. By exfoliating, you will also have your sunless tan last a few days longer.

What you should not do: After spray tanning, you want to keep yourself from sweating. So, no jogging, exercising, etc. The reason for this is if you start to sweat, the solution that was just sprayed onto your body will end up "sweating away" leaving unwanted streak marks on your body.
